At North Hill Physical Therapy, service begins with your first phone call. We will schedule an appointment, obtain insurance information, contact your insurance and verify your benefits. As a time saver and to expedite your initial visit, our required patient paperwork is also available in the Patient Center on this website. Simply print and fill from home then bring with you the day of your appointment. Joel E. Lewis, D.P.T our physical therapist will evaluate you and your condition, listening to your goals and discussing the course of treatment that is best suited to your needs and your particular situation. Joel and our fully licensed Physical Therapy Assistants will continue to care for you on successive visits and keep you informed regarding treatment changes and expectations.

Joel E. Lewis, DPT, OCS, CCI

Dr. Lewis is a local product. He enjoys living and working in our great community. Joel graduated from Seattle Pacific University and then went on to receive his degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Washington in 1992. In 2009, Joel advanced his training to the highest level by getting his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Pacific University. He is also board certified in Orthopedic Rehabilitation. Joel is also a Credentialed Clinical Instructor.

Joel is an avid reader, enjoying many different styles of books and authors. When not at work Joel likes staying active by playing basketball and riding bikes when the weather permits. He loves camping and learning about beer judging.

Blake Wood DPT, OCS, Cert. DN, CSCS

Blake first became interested in physical therapy when helping his father coach youth basketball. He was always trying to “fix” players who got injured on the court. Fast forward a few years later and now he has equipped himself with the necessary tools in order to provide top notch PT care. From sprained ankles to post-surgical patients and everyone in between he has a passion for rehabilitation. When not at the clinic he enjoys competitive sports, with his favorite being basketball!

Juwana, PTA

Juwana became interested in learning about physical therapy due to her own experience with rehabbing old dance injuries. In her free time, she loves to teach dance as well as spending quality time with her family and children playing board games and watching shows.

Lauren, PTA

Lauren chose to get into the field of Physical Therapy because she loves being able to make a difference in her community. One of her greatest joys is to be able to help patients reach their goals.

In her free time, Lauren loves hanging out with friends and family, exploring the Pacific Northwest, and spending time with her husband, new baby and dog. Her hobbies include cooking, playing games, biking, and hiking. She also loves learning new things!

Shawna, PTA

Shawna chose to go into physical therapy because she knew she wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. After experiencing physical therapy herself as a patient, and the education and knowledge that she has gained that she would be a great help to others. She feels that her purpose in life is to help her patients on their road to recovery and to motivate them to live a happy and healthy and active lifestyle.

She enjoys time with her family and helping her son out with activities with the boy scouts, as well as numerous outdoor activities, including hiking, camping, and water sports. She also loves going out dancing, especially line dancing.

Kristen, PTA

Kristen chose to be a PTA because she wants people to get healthy and live better! Being in this field gives her the opportunity to improve the lives of people positively and compassionately in this community who’ve experienced serious injury and/or major surgery. Kristen finds the most gratifying aspect of her job to be helping people transform their pains and limitations into strengths and independence. She has been in the outpatient orthopedic setting for 10 years and she loves seeing her patients achieve their rehab goals!

Nature and music fill her cup and she cherishes family trips to the mountains.

Liliya, PTA

Liliya has been a physical therapist assistant since 2020 and participates in assisting her patients to their highest level of functioning. Client focused care is Liliya’s main objective and through this she strives to build patient connection and physical improvement. She accommodates to her patients primary and physical needs. Liliya progressively acts to better her work environment with her positive attitude, timely patient encouragements, adequate documentation and maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Liliya was born and raised in the Ukraine, but moved to Seattle 26 years ago, she enjoys the sunshine and rainy seasons of this beautiful state that she now calls home. When not at work, Liliya enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
